Is it just me or has this been a pretty good autumn season? I think especially compared to the past two years, this time around Fall has seemed to get its fair share of the calendar; it didn’t get a late start due to lingering hot temperatures and (so far) hasn’t been rudely cut off by he wo must not be named (ok, this time I’ll name him just so we’re all on the same page.. it’s winter)
I’ve been quite pleased with the amount of time we’ve had to gush over the gorgeous leaves and bask in the quintessential fall happenings and let me tell you, Pittsburgh is a wonderful place to be for all of it. It’s a city, but the beauty of the nature sprinkled throughout -in the form of parks and trees and grassy lawns- really makes this such a beautiful place. I just love the way this city comes to life in the Fall.
As usual, there is so. much. to. do. I love how Pittsburgh takes advantage of every season; it really keeps things interesting. Here are just some of the things that have been going on over the past few months and some things upcoming!
Apple/pumpkin picking at farms just outside the city
Dozens of Harvest Festivals
Pumpkin glass blowing at the Pittsburgh Glass Center
Museum of Horror at the Carnegie Museum of Art
Fall arrangements at Phipps Conservatory
The Crucible performed at a local theater
Pumpkin beers to compare at local bars
Farmers markets with the freshest seasonal produce
Not to mention the countless things you can do all year that provide a different experience with each new season.
Have you ever been to Pittsburgh in the Fall? What seasonally appropriate things do you like to do where you live?
Thanks for stopping by!
