If you follow me on instragram (and you totally should!), you’ve already heard me acknowledge how far behind I’ve fallen on my posts, so I’m trying to address that now. It’s been pretty difficult to feel inspired when I don’t have near as much time to devote to blogging as I wish I did, and when my blog is not what I want it to be because of that lack of time. I know it’s possible because I’ve read blogs of so many women who are amazing and juggle a million things, but with a full time job, wedding planning, and other responsibilities, I just haven’t quite figured it out yet.
But I’m trying! And I’m giving myself grace. And I think that’s good for now.
I know the month is halfway over, but I wanted to share with you all what my #29daysofresolution challenge has been about this month! If you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out my introductory post here. Last month I resolved to read every day, which is a big big difference from the zero days I would read before January, and I’d say I did pretty well! I missed about 5 or so days due to traveling or just overall business, but I learned that it’s definitely something I would like to keep as a frequent activity in my life.
This month, I’ve committed to practicing my hand lettering every day. It’s a skill I admire so much in others and I’d love to have a better understanding of the craft. It’s also such a useful skill to have, especially with a wedding coming up..
To help me along, I’ve been utilizing the February edition of Dawn Nicole’s monthly lettering and doodle challenge. Every other day, she has a word or phrase to practice hand lettering and every other day she has a prompt for a doodle. I end up lettering every day, but the doodle prompts are an awesome way to help me feel more comfortable on paper. It’s been a really fun month so far and I’m definitely going to be continuing this one the rest of the year.
How have your monthly/yearly resolutions been going?? Any tips for a hand lettering newbie?
